When you picture your future, what do you see? A dream home, having a family, paying off debt, traveling the world?  Goals and dreams may look different to each of us.  Sometimes it might feel like our “someday dreams” may never happen.  Life throws us curve balls or we may be so busy trying to get through our day to day lives that goals get put on the back burner.

Maybe you are a SAHM that wants to help out with household expenses-diapers, school, music lessons, activities, sports, clothes, braces, college, etc. Or you are a working professional that is burnt out by the stress of your job and want to get rid of the daily grind and travel the world.  Or maybe you are nearing retirement and looking for a way to increase your nest egg.  Whatever the case may be, you decide to turn to the Internet to find ways to increase your income.

Why Blogging?

You will likely find that blogging is at the top of most lists for making money online.  It is relatively inexpensive to start up, and the earning potential for bloggers is huge (Check out my list of Blog Resources to see what I used to start). The world of blogging and advertising has changed a great deal over the past few years.  Successful bloggers are bringing in thousands every month.  It is not a get rich quick scheme, but your potential is unlimited if you are willing to put in the time and work. If you seriously want to make money, you cannot use a free blog like Blogger or wordpress.com.  Most affiliate programs won’t work with you on a free platform, and you are extremely limited in the plugins you can use.  To make money with blogging, you need to be on a self-hosted WordPress site (check out Blue Host to learn more).

I began my first blog in 2012, but it never made money and I gave up.  After spending a couple of years reading about how to make money with a blog, I decided to try blogging again in the summer of 2017.  My motivation was simple-our oldest daughter is heading off to college soon.  We want to be able to help her and her siblings pay for at least a couple years of school.

After signing up for my site, I came across the FREE 5 Day email crash course offered by It’s a Lovely Life.  This blog is run by Heather and Pete Reese.  They have been blogging for over 12 years and have been making six figures with their travel blog for several years (averaging $30k a month).  In the summer of 2017, their income grew to over $90,000 PER MONTH when they introduced the 30 Day Blogging Blastoff Course.

I knew that if I really wanted to make money and be successful with my blog, then I needed a good training course that would teach me about blogging.  So many courses focus on one thing-marketing, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.  I knew what I needed as a new blogger (or somewhat experienced blogger) was a comprehensive course that would cover everything and NOT cost an arm and a leg.  Some courses out there are crazy expensive, but this one is a great value because you learn SO MUCH.

Why you should take the Blogging Blastoff course

I took this course in July 2017 and it is AWESOME.  Heather and Pete packed 10+ years of experience into a 30-day class that teaches you EVERYTHING you need to know to be successful at blogging. They cover in detail the different ways to earn money, how to design the ideal blog and posts, the business side of blogging, how to get your name out there and be found by companies for sponsored posts, how to utilize social media, and SO MUCH MORE.  I honestly filled an entire notebook with all of the notes that I took from this class.  Click HERE to see the full syllabus and to learn more.  You will be seriously amazed at all the information that is covered in this class.

Although new material is introduced every day for 30 days, you can take your time going through it.  You will have access to the course for at least two years, so you can come back and reread material as your blog grows.  If you don’t finish with the rest of the group, you can jump in with the next month’s class to ask questions and complete assignments.

Along with the course, they have a VIP Facebook group for class members.  Heather and Pete are actively involved in the group and have daily threads to answer questions each day.  They also have a group for starting bloggers (Start a Money Making Blog), and a WordPress Help group.  All three groups are incredible support for new and experienced bloggers.  Heather and Pete have put an incredible amount of time into this course and the free challenges offered in the other groups, and they really do care about helping other bloggers be successful.

In addition to the other class bonuses, you also get the WP Blast Off course for FREE.  The WP Blast Off course walks you through step by step setting up your new Word Press Blog.  It is available for $97 separately but included with the purchase of Blogging Blastoff or the Travel Blogging Fast Track course.

What does it cost?

The big questions that I always want to know when I look at a course online are how much does it cost and is it going to be worth it?  Similar classes only open once or twice a year and are in the $800-$1000 range.  Most people looking to earn money from a blog simply don’t want to invest that much money.  What I love about the 30-day Fast Track is that they offer it every month, and it costs $397.  They also offer a payment plan (3 payments of $157).

The July Blogging Blastoff begins on July 1st.  A new class begins on the first of each month and enrollment opens two weeks before the start of the class. If you happen to be reading this post in between enrollment, you can sign up for the 5 Day email crash course to be alerted when the next 30-day course opens.

I know that $397 might seem like a lot still, but it truly is an investment in yourself and your blog.  If you were looking at starting a different business or switching careers, you would probably spend thousands getting started.  If you needed to get an education to start a new career, you would spend more than $397 to take ONE college class.   You could waste time trying to piece together info from other blogs.  I actually spent months taking notes and trying to learn what I needed to from other blogs.  It didn’t even come CLOSE to the info that is provided in this class.  Once again, check out the link for the July Blogging Blastoff to see what this class covers and see if it is right for you.

How this course has helped me

Ok, you are thinking it sounds like maybe a good course to take.  But, you want to know how it will actually help a new blogger.  As I mentioned, I started my first blog in 2012 on Blogger.  I had a Facebook page and a Pinterest account that had about 25 followers each.  Running a blog that earns income is actually a small business and there is a lot to learn about that business.  This course helped me set up everything the right way-required disclosures, starting a business, joining affiliate programs, etc.  Once I launched my blog, I used what I learned from the course to focus on building my social media.  My post on Increasing Instagram and Twitter goes over how I put that knowledge into action.  I continue to review what I learned from the course and put each step into action as it applies.

Whether you are a new blogger wanting to start right or an experienced blogger looking to grow your blog, this blogging course is essential and worth EVERY PENNY!  It will start you off on the right track and put you months (if not years) ahead and save you from making common blogging mistakes.  It truly is the BEST blogging course you can take online.
