August 2018 Stitch Fix Kids Review

In July 2018, Stitch Fix introduced Stitch Fix for Kids.  My two younger daughters were so excited to try it, and I was excited to not spend as much time back to school shopping. 🙂 We waited for a couple weeks to sign up, so my girls ended up getting their Fixes near the end of August/early September.  This review is for my 8-year old daughter, Megan.

Stitch Fix Kids is similar to Stitch Fix for adults.  I added each girl to my account and then filled out a profile for each one.  Instead of 5 items that come in the box, the kid’s boxes come with 8-12 items that are priced $10-35.  I love that Stitch Fix realizes that kids grow fast and kept the price of items reasonable. There is a $20 style fee for each box that is used as a credit on anything you keep.  Each of my daughters received 10 items in their Fix along with a fun activity sheet and stickers.

Not familiar with Stitch Fix?  Check out my post-Finding Style with Stitch Fix to read about how it works.   We love getting a box of new clothes and being able to try them on in the comfort of our home. With Stitch Fix, you can mix and match with items you already own and try new styles.  Keep what you want and send back anything you don’t (with free shipping both ways). There is no minimum purchase, and you can choose how often you want to receive a fix (automatically ship every 1-3 months or manually choose a date).  We love getting clothes that fit great and look fabulous without a lot of effort.

What She Kept

Megan loved trying on everything in this Fix.  She loved the colors and designs of this top and wanted to keep it. Wish they had one in my size! 🙂

Megan has never liked jeans. NEVER.  I have been trying to get her to try them since she was a toddler, but she will only wear leggings.  I have even tried getting her to try jeans in different colors and prints, and she refused to wear them.  I was shocked when she tried on these pink skinny jeans and LOVED them.  Actually, I wasn’t that surprised because Stitch Fix jeans are AWESOME.

I wasn’t sure of this sweater when she opened her box, but Megan loved it and wanted to keep it.  It also looked cute with the pink jeans so we kept it.

I hadn’t planned to get her a new jacket this year (we go from short sleeves to winter coats fast), but Megan really loved this jacket.  The pink fleece inside is very soft, and the jacket is reversible.  She won me over and we decided to keep it.

As I mentioned above, Megan lives in leggings.  I was really impressed with the quality of these leggings and she liked the print.

What She Returned

Megan loved this dress and really wanted to keep it.  We did buy a couple of tops that were similar to this dress when we went back to school shopping, so we decided not to keep it. Super cute though!

Megan also loved this pink dress, especially since it had pockets.  She had similar items in her closet, so we returned it.

This top was cute, but we didn’t really love the sleeves, so we sent it back.

The leggings were good quality but a little loose on her.  Since we stocked up on other leggings in our regular back to school shopping, she really didn’t need another pair.

This tee shirt was also cute, but she didn’t really need it so it also went back.

All in all, Megan loved her first Fix.  If she would have kept the whole box, we would have received a 25% discount.  Since we had already done most of our back to school shopping, she just kept her favorites.  I loved that Stitch Fix for Kids saved us time shopping for school clothes and gave my girls more options than what we usually find in our city.  I set my girls accounts on manual so that I can request a box when we want to (Christmas, special occasions, birthdays, back to school shopping).
